The Ochre Trail
A unique walk through the old ochre quarries, offering a spectacle of natural colours ranging from yellow to red and brilliant shades of orange.
Ôkhra - Ochre Ecomuseum
In this former ochre factory, the ochre sand extracted from the quarries was transformed into pigment. Today, it's an ochre eco-museum offering courses, workshops, exhibitions and guided tours.

St Michel's Church (12th century) and the orientation table

The markets
Every Thursday and Sunday, the village hosts one of Provence's finest markets (along with the Sunday antiques market on the banks of the Sorgue).
The "Roues à Aube"
These remnants of the industrial past are scattered throughout the village, adding to its picturesque charm.
The "Partage des Eaux"
A peaceful stroll in a bucolic setting where the Sorgue divides into several arms.
Less well-known than the others, these villages are just as worth a visit.
At Les Taillades , two rocky promontories, on which an 18th-century church and a tower are built, offer exceptional views over the Luberon and the plain, from Cavaillon to Mont Ventoux !
A typical Provencal village, Goult , less than 10km from the hotel, is a favourite with visitors. It's a pleasure to wander through the narrow streets with their vaulted passageways, arcades, old doors and beautiful stone and ochre houses.
The must-sees in the village are the Moulin de Jérusalem and the Conservatoire des Terrasses.
From the heights of Joucas, just 5 minutes from the Mas, the view over the plain and the Petit Luberon is breathtaking. Beautiful cobbled streets wind their way up between old stone houses and flower-filled corners.
Mas de Garrigon is the ideal base from which to explore the wider Provence region.
Lourmarin : head for the southern Luberon! If you take the Route de la Combe from Apt, you'll pass by Bonnieux on your way to the Pays d'Aigues and its famous village of Lourmarin. Don't hesitate to continue on to the villages of Cadenet, Cucuron or Ansouis - you won't be disappointed.
Mont Ventoux and the Pays de Sault : when you arrive on the "Plateau de Sault" via the Gabelle Road, there's a viewpoint from which you can take in the whole of lavender country (not to be missed, especially if you're visiting in June/July).
Les Alpilles and its incredible sites : Saint Rémy-de-Provence, Eygalières, les Baux-de-Provence...
Aix-en-Provence : plan a day to wander through its magnificent narrow streets and squares with their many fountains.
